UK Data Intelligence

We monitor public records to identify commercial activity before it becomes public knowledge.

Our first product reports new hospitality venues across the United Kingdom, drawn from local authority licensing registers two to three months before those venues open.

Public information, gathered early and put in order.

Statutory registers record commercial intent long before a business becomes visible. We read those registers continuously, structure what they contain, and issue it to the people whose work depends on knowing first.

Early Identification

Each week we examine new applications made to local authority licensing registers. A venue appearing in those records is typically two to three months from opening — the period in which fit-out, supply and service decisions are still being taken.

Verified Structure

Records are checked against source, de-duplicated and structured before release. Every entry carries trading name, address, local authority, application date and premises type, filtered to the region held. Nothing is inferred and nothing is estimated.

Weekly Delivery

Data is issued weekly as a structured spreadsheet that can be worked from immediately or loaded into an existing system without preparation. Subscriptions are regional, so a supplier receives the territory it serves and nothing beyond it.

A free monthly measure of new venue applications by UK region.

Each month we publish the volume of new premises licence applications recorded across the areas we monitor, with a breakdown by local authority. The Index is published without charge and may be cited by the trade and national press.

New premises licence applications, Greater Manchester

Commentary for the current month appears here: one short paragraph noting the direction of the figure against the previous month and any local authority worth drawing attention to.

Press enquiries and requests for the underlying regional breakdown: index@thurloebancroft.co.uk.

The Index reports what has been applied for rather than what has already opened — the pipeline rather than the position. The dedicated page sets out what each release contains, how every term in it is defined, and how the figure should be cited.

About the Thurloe Index

The weekly subscription, by region.

The Thurloe Bancroft Openings Report names the premises in a region that are opening, changing hands, or changing what they are licensed for, weeks before the change is visible on the street. It is written for suppliers who need to reach an operator while the fit-out is still being decided.

Issued weekly, as regional editions. The first edition covers Greater Manchester and is in preparation.

Where the data comes from.

All information published by Thurloe Bancroft is compiled from public statutory registers maintained by local authorities in the United Kingdom. Applications are collected at source, checked against the originating register and structured to a consistent format before release. Where a record is incomplete or ambiguous, it is held back rather than published.

We do not contact the businesses that appear in our data, and we publish nothing about them that those registers do not already make public. Subscribers within a region receive the same dataset on the same day.
